Build your Brain!

Alright guys, so I decided to do the Build your Brain activity. So obviously I needed someone under 10 and I had two options and two options only. My nephew Matias or my soon to be brother in law Jonah. Well if you saw the video I chose Jonah because my nephew is six and probably would have destroyed everything before we could start...LOL. So as we started I was still learning myself. I picked up the information and began to try to teach it to Jonah; I believed he picked it up faster than I did. The further into the project we went, we were able to pick out individual sections of the brain and learned a few of their function functions. I even learned a few things from him. We didn't go into every little section or piece of the brain but as I was looking for models to base the project off of I learned about some of the parts that we didn't include in our model. For example, did you know that we have twelve cranial nerves that all have their own specific functions? The project in its entirety wasn't extremely complicated but it helped my improve my understanding of the brain while teaching another person. Overall I actually had a lot of fun; I would enjoy doing more projects like this in the future.Sources-https://anatomychartee.co/show/brain-model-labeled-pdf.html

Wow, you guys did a great job. I chose the same section to do with my 5 year old and was completely blown away at how much they retain in such a short time. The age difference in the kids we did it with definitely shows. Jonah is very intelligent and knows what he's talking about. Great job guys!
ReplyDeleteHey Austin! I think this is wonderful and I really like how you chose this task. It was the one I wanted to do but I couldn't find anyone under ten. Anyways I don't have a lot to suggest as I believe you demonstrated this perfectly. Thank you!
ReplyDelete" it helped me improve my understanding of the brain while teaching another person."- that's great to hear as it was my objective for this task! Good job in how you have done this. Yes, Jonah is really smart!
