Alright, so this story is not my own but of someone extremely close to me. This particular story of love and persistence is about Allie Borcik. If you don't already see the connection by name alone, this is my sister. Because this is a personal story I won't go into too much detail. Shortly after her 19th birthday, Allie gave birth to my first nephew, Matias. It was rough but if anyone could do it was her. At the time, her and Matias's father were together but after showing a constant neglect towards Allie and a lack of motivation to do what a father should do they decided to separate. Discouraged by the fact she was now a single mother, she turned to family for help. Nevertheless, she continued to press on, to work hard, and to be the best mother she could be.
Over the next five years, she spent time at some different kinds of jobs and had a few major relationships that didn't quite work out. She was confused about how to go about life as a single mother and how to find and conquer a profession that she really loved; though, she was certain about one thing -- to raise her son to be the best possible man he could be. In 2016, she met a man who we all believed to be a stand-up guy, possibly even the right one for her. On the outside, he carried himself well and looked to be someone of honesty and trustworthiness. Over time, their relationship grew stronger, eventually leading to the next step and my sister became pregnant again. Soon after, my sister made the life-changing decision to give her life to Christ. She was baptized at Beltway church, January 22nd, 2017 and it was one of the happiest days of my life. I was glad to know that I don't need to worry about her anymore because God's got his daughter back. Life seemed to have been going amazing. However, the closer it got to the due date of my new nephew, she began to notice big changes in the man she thought was her person. He began to get angry quite often and held this sort of hostility towards her and their child. This hostility soon turned into hate which then showed this "stand-up man's" true colors. Though she knew he didn't appreciate her worth or respected her like he should have, she felt that she needed to stay with him, to give him chance after chance. She wanted her sons to have a father and she would go through every sacrifice to give them that chance. But in reality, this man wasn't the father she had hoped for them; he neglected them and only gave them the time of day when he wanted to. Realizing that neither he or her sons deserved to be treated in this way, Allie decided to leave him. She knew she needed to discover her own worth and take care of her children before she looked for that in someone else. Shortly after standing up for her family, she began to get confidence and feeling of worthiness back which made her a better mother to the boys who will truly love her for her.Today, Allie is stronger than ever willing to raise these boys by herself until someone comes along and shows that he loves and respects her and her boys the way God would. She now loves her job, has her own house, and her relationship with God has grown in so many new ways. As a daughter of God, she has finally realized and embraced her true worth. Through constant persistence and love, she found herself and gained wisdom beyond measure. She has greatly surpassed what culture expects of a single mother and is even raising her boys all on her own earnings.

Hello Austin! This was a very good story, and really touched my heart. It is good that your sister is so strong and realized the unhealthy relationship she was in. One day she will find someone who respects her and treats her right. Great work, just work on proofreading for minor grammatical errors. Overall, good work!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your sister's story! This was really inspiring and is proof we can do anything we set our minds to, regardless of our situations. I think it's really neat how your sister has pushed through even though she was treated terribly. I wish you both the best!
